2 Peter 3:8-9
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
The late Dr. John F. Walvoord, president of Dallas Theological Seminary, used to tell his students about verse 8. He remarked that God could look at a 24-hour day and see as many complexities in it as man could see in a thousand years. And God could look at a thousand years and see it as simply as man sees one day. God’s desire is that everyone will repent (change their minds) and turn to Him.

Do Dr. Walvoord’s comments help you in understanding verse 8?
RESPOND
Talk with a friend about the blessing of the Lord’s delay in returning. He wants as many to be saved as possible. Had He returned ten years ago, think how many would not have been ready because they had not trusted in Jesus as Savior by that time.
