READ
2 Peter 3:10
10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
The “Day of the Lord” includes a time of judgment as well as blessing. The time of judgment is the seven year Tribulation followed by the Millennial kingdom on earth. It will begin “unexpectedly” as the rapture of the church (see 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) will unexpectedly trigger these following events.
REFLECT
Historical Christianity has always expected Jesus to return at any time. Are you ready if this should occur today?
RESPOND
Join with a friend in reading portions of Scripture that have to do with the rapture, followed by the Tribulation and Millennium. See not only 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 but also Matthew 24:15-22 for the Tribulation, and Revelation 19:11-16 for the Lord’s return to the earth to set up His 1000-year kingdom.
