Faithful Endurance
READ
2 Thessalonians 1:3-4
3 Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. 4 We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering.
Before Paul addressed their misunderstanding, he wrote how much the believers in Thessalonica meant to him, Silas and Timothy. The faith of the believers was flourishing and their love for others was growing. This was a testimony Paul and his companions could share with others. Paul acknowledged they were suffering hardships and suffering. In spite of this they were showing endurance and faithfulness.
REFLECT
What is it like for you? Are you experiencing hardships because of your faith? If so, you need to know this could not occur without God allowing it.
RESPOND
Read together some Scriptures that can be helpful when undergoing hardships. See Proverbs 21:1 and 1 Corinthians 10:12-13. You could also talk about the first two chapters of Job. Those clearly show Satan could not go beyond the limits God set.
