READ
2 Thessalonians 1:9-10
9 They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. 10 When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him.
When Jesus returns to earth at His Second Coming, unbelievers will be punished with “eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.” This eternal separation from God will be the horrible consequence unbelievers will experience. This should motivate Christ-followers to witness for Jesus so those rejecting Him might trust in Him before it is eternally too late.
REFLECT
Think of the grace of God allowing you to experience being with Him forever while sadly unbelievers will be separated from Him forever.
RESPOND
Read Matthew 25:31-46 that records the words of Jesus about the separation of believers from unbelievers and the eternal destiny of both. This passage will be fulfilled when Jesus returns to earth. It coincides with 2 Thessalonians 1:9-10.
