2 Thessalonians - Week 3 - Day 3

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 

13 As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. 14 He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

These two verses seem to view the past, present and future for the believers in Jesus. They had been saved; now are being further set apart (being made holy) by the ministry of the Holy Spirit; and will eventually share in the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is something too glorious to fully understand, but every believer in Jesus can rejoice in it.  

REFLECT 

There are many things in the Bible you may not understand, but you can believe what it says. If God answered everyone’s questions, think how large the Bible would be. 

RESPOND 

Some refer this passage in 1 Thessalonians to what is said in Romans 8:28-30. Various items in the Romans passage are difficult to understand, but they can be believed. God loses no one in the process.
