2 Thessalonians 2:15-17
15 With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter. 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, 17 comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.
Paul wanted the believers to stand firm in what had been taught them. Today, Paul’s teaching is found in the Bible. The believers in Thessalonica were undergoing persecution for their faith. Paul prayed that the heavenly Father and the Son would give them comfort and strengthen them in all they were doing and saying.
REFLECT
Think of the great God you serve and who can give comfort in the midst of whatever difficulties you are experiencing.
RESPOND
With your disciple, read similar instructions to these Paul gave to what the apostle Peter gave in 1 Peter 5:9-11. You can pray similar requests for your friends.
