READ
2 Thessalonians 3:11-13
11 Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business. 12 We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. 13 As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.
Paul was disturbed by what he had heard about some of the Thessalonians. Some were refusing to work to earn a living but were working at being meddlesome in other people’s lives. Paul was pleased with those not guilty of this bad behavior and urged them never to get tired of doing good. Not only did he warn believers of wrong doing but encouraged them in right doing.
REFLECT
Think about whom you might encourage today for living in a way that is a good model for others.
RESPOND
Talk with your friend about some people each of you might encourage for living a godly example. Read Hebrews 13:7 as a reminder and thank them, if possible.
