READ
2 Timothy 1:10-11
10 And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. 11 And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.
One may have questions about the concept of God, but they are helped by focusing on the person of Jesus, the second person of the trinity. It is common to fear death, but Jesus broke this power by helping believers in Him to realize there is life beyond physical death. All can experience this as they believe the Gospel. Paul considered himself chosen by God to be “a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.”
REFLECT
Think about what Jesus said as recorded in John 11:25. Does this help you not to fear physical death?
RESPOND
The word “Gospel” means “good news.” Join with another person in reading the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 15. It is a long chapter and does not need to be read all at once. This chapter will answer many questions you and others may have about the resurrection, not only of Jesus but also of your own body.
