READ
2 Timothy 1:12
12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.
Paul was suffering in prison because God had chosen him to be a preacher, apostle and teacher of the Gospel. Paul was not ashamed that he was suffering for the sake of the Gospel. He was confident that God could safeguard what he had committed to Him until Christ’s return.
REFLECT
Think about Paul’s confidence in God in spite of the fact that he was suffering in prison. Do you have this kind of confidence in God?
RESPOND
Encourage a friend to make some of the statements and prayers in the Bible to be your prayers and confidence. Let Paul’s statement be your prayer and confidence that God can safeguard your life and everything about you until you see Jesus face to face. This is true for anyone who has placed faith in Jesus for salvation.
