READ
2 Timothy 2:19
19 But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”
If Paul’s readers would have thought they missed the Christ’s return, they would have thought the Lord did not remember them. Paul reminded them that “The Lord knows those who are his.” Paul also indicated that those who are Christ-followers “must turn away from evil.” Moral evil would be that which is contrary to the character of a holy God.
REFLECT
As others view your life, do they see someone who gives an indication they serve a holy God?
RESPOND
It is important for believers to live in such a way that others realize they serve a holy God. Not doing so is what kept Moses and Aaron from being able to lead the Israelites into the promised land (see Numbers 20:10-12). Today, does your attitude toward honesty and the language you use reveal to others you serve a holy God?
