READ
2 Timothy 3:1-2
1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
Some believe there will be a worldwide revival at the end of the age. There may be occasional local revivals, but this passage in 2 Timothy 3 warns not to look for a worldwide one. Things will only get worse and worse at the end of the age. This has to do with conditions that have always existed to some extent but will get much worse as time gets closer to the Lord’s return.
REFLECT
As you look around at the moral corruption in the world, do you think things are getting better and better or worse and worse?
RESPOND
Examine the verses in 2 Timothy 3 and compare them to what is occurring today. This should cause an urgency to tell friends and loved ones about Jesus so they will be ready to meet Him when they go into eternity. Remind them that someday we will all be in eternity, and the only way to be ready is by trusting in Jesus who paid for our sins on the cross.
