READ
2 Timothy 3:14-15
14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
Regardless of what others are doing, Paul reminded Timothy to be faithful to what he had been taught. He could be confident of what he was taught because those who taught him had integrity. Timothy had been taught the Scriptures from “childhood.” These Scriptures gave him the wisdom needed to trust in Jesus as Savior.
REFLECT
Have you had the spiritual blessing of having been taught the Scriptures from childhood? Was that what led you to see the need to trust Jesus as Savior?
RESPOND
Verse 15 in this passage is a reminder that only what is taught in the Scriptures will give a person enough wisdom to trust in Jesus for salvation. In witnessing, it is always good to weave the Scriptures into what you say.
