READ
2 Timothy 4:1-2
1 I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
This is a solemn charge that Paul gave Timothy. Notice that someday judgment is coming for both the living and the dead. The word “Preach” seems to focus on those behind pulpits, but the basic meaning is “proclaim.” Any believer telling others about Jesus is proclaiming His word. Whether the time is favorable or not, see the manner that Paul suggests this should be done.
REFLECT
During the past week, have you been able to tell someone about Jesus? Sharing what He has done to change your life will make an impact on the listener.
RESPOND
When Peter wrote his first letter recorded in the Scriptures, he told about sharing one’s faith as he wrote 1 Peter 3:15-16. Are you able to tell others about the hope that is in you?
