READ
2 Timothy 4:3-4
3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
Paul explained why it is urgent to provide good biblical teaching to others. Perhaps they will listen now but their hearts will become hardened and they will no longer listen. What kind of teaching itches the ears? It is the kind that does not talk about hell or God’s justice. When He was on earth, Jesus talked more about hell than he did about heaven. He was warning people not to go there.

When was the last time you heard a message about hell?
RESPOND
With a friend do some research about “hell.” One passage to focus on is Matthew 25:41-46. Notice that hell was prepared for the devil and his angels but others will also be thrown into it. Especially notice verse 46: unbelievers will go into “eternal” punishment but believers into “eternal” life. The same Greek words are used in both cases. If one denies eternal punishment for unbelievers, he must logically deny eternal life for believers.
