2 Timothy – Week 8 – Day 5

2 Timothy 4:18 

18 Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. 

Even though he was facing death, Paul had the confidence that on the other side he would be safe in heaven. This confidence caused him to break out in a doxology of praise to God. Even an apostle had to focus on the future because of the suffering and death he was facing.  

REFLECT 

Whenever a believer is facing death, it is necessary to think of going to be with Jesus afterwards. 

RESPOND 

Try to have some verses of Scripture ready to comfort those who have believing ones who have gone to be with Jesus. Such verses are found in Psalm 17:15; 34:18; 116:15; Proverbs 10:7; John 11:25.
