READ
Colossians 1:6
6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
The “world” in Paul’s day was primarily the Roman Empire. The expression “Good News” is a translation of the word for “gospel.” It was known for changing lives everywhere just as it had changed the lives of those in Colosse. Apparently those to whom Paul was writing believed in Jesus the first time they heard and understood the message. Note it was the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
REFLECT
Think about the wonderful grace of God. It is the undeserved favor that God gives you. Primarily this was in giving His only Son to die for you.
RESPOND
To learn about the message of the gospel, read 1 Corinthians 15:1-6. Observe the mention of over 500 eyewitnesses, most of whom were still living as Paul wrote this about A.D. 55. One could have gone and asked them if there was any doubt.
