READ
Galatians 6:14
14 As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.
The only thing that Paul would boast about was what Jesus accomplished when He died on the cross. Although the cross is thought of as putting one to death, Paul said it also put to death his interest in the world and the world’s interest in him.
REFLECT
Do you take pride in what Jesus did on the cross for you, as He did for all lost mankind?
RESPOND
Talk with a fellow believer about using hymns to lift your heart to God. “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” is one written by Isaac Watts who in the second verse wrote: “Forbid it Lord that I should boast, save in the death of Christ, my God. All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.”
