READ
Galatians 6:15-16
15 It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. 16 May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.
For the legalists who have their lists of what they think people ought to do to be considered believers, Paul says those items have nothing to do with one becoming a new creation in God. Paul wrote the similar truth in 2 Corinthians 5:16-18. One becomes a new creation as he or she trusts in God by faith. Christ-followers do not live by a list of rules but in gratefulness of God’s peace and mercy that He has showered on them.
REFLECT
Think of the mercy and peace God has shown you by providing His son as a Savior for you.
RESPOND
Rather than thinking about a list of rules to be kept, focus on the grace of God you received by trusting in Jesus as your Savior. Do all you can to share this great truth with others.
