READ
Galatians 3:10
10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”
These are strong words to anyone today who tries to live the Christian life by a set of rules. If one depends on the Old Testament law, it is necessary to observe all 613 laws. God’s promise to Abraham contained unconditional promises; they depended on God not man. The Mosaic law contained conditional promises; do this or die.
REFLECT
Are you getting a better understanding of the Old Testament in contrast to the New Testament?
RESPOND
You may be dealing with someone who insists on keeping one of the laws—not the moral ones—of the Old Testament. You could use Galatians 3:10 to say to the person that all the law, not just one, must be kept. You could wish the person well on keeping the other 612 laws.
