READ
Galatians 3:13-14
13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” 14 Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
The law was not a blessing; it was a curse “for our wrongdoing.” When Jesus gave His life on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for the sins of mankind. Again Paul mentioned the Holy Spirit is given because of one’s faith. He is not received by keeping some law or doing some good works.
REFLECT
Think about how Jesus took your curse of sin on Himself. Do you realize He did that and completely forgives you as you trust Him as your Savior?
RESPOND
You should be discipling someone else by sharing these verses and comments with them. Remind others of Romans 6:23 and John 3:16-18. Emphasize the need to forgive others as Christ has forgiven them, as mentioned in Ephesians 4:30-32.
