Galatians 5:7-10
7 You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? 8 It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. 9 This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough! 10 I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you.
Those who had been called to freedom from the law had become confused by false teachers trying to put them under the law. False teaching is like yeast; it will keep spreading and spreading. Paul could only depend on the Lord to keep the Galatians from believing the false teaching being spread among them. Paul was also confident that God would judge the false teacher who was misleading them.
REFLECT
Are you in a church that teaches the Bible and guards against those who might come in and spread false teaching?
RESPOND
Search the Internet for the website of a local church you might be interested in and look for their Statement of Faith. It may be called by a different title, but it will help you know what beliefs the church defends as truth.
