“Count the stars if you are able…” With these words spoken to Abraham, God formed a covenant that would lead to the formation of the nation of Israel and, eventually, the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
In this verse-by-verse study we’ll continue our examination of the Book of Genesis and focus specifically on the family of Abraham. From Abraham’s calling to the Promised Land, to Jacob’s wrestling with God in the night, we’ll follow the ups and downs in the lives of the first of Israel’s patriarchs. Through it all we’ll see at times God’s burning anger, but also His divine mercy and gracious love that would, one day, be extended to all the world because of Abraham’s faith.
In this study of Genesis, we'll cover in detail chapters 12 through 36. Watch for the third and final of our study of Genesis coming soon.
