Philippians 1:5-6
5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Paul was especially thankful for the believers in Philippi who had been faithful partners with him in the ministry since he first came to their city. God had begun a good work in them when they had trusted in Jesus as Savior. Paul was confident this work of God would continue in their lives
until Jesus returns. This points out that Paul knew Jesus could return at any time to catch up believers to be with Himself, as Paul had written about 10 years earlier in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
REFLECT
Think on the “good work” the Lord began in you when you trusted Jesus as your Savior. How has your life been different since then?
RESPOND
With a friend, read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 about what Paul wrote about believers being caught up to be with Jesus.
