Philippians 1:9-10
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
Notice what was on his mind as Paul prayed for these believers. He did not pray for their physical problems or that they would be free from persecution; he prayed for their spiritual growth. He wanted their love to increase even more and that they would grow “in knowledge and understanding.” Paul said this is what really matters as he desired for them to live “pure and blameless lives” until the coming of Christ.
RELECT
Do you consider you are growing in your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word? This results as you are in the Bible or listening to the Bible at least four times a week. Back to the Bible’s research reveals unless you in the Bible at least this many times your lifestyle (habits, temptations, relationships) are no different than those who never read the Bible.
RESPOND
Hopefully you have a disciple to pass on what you are learning. Talk with the individual about reading the Bible. If it is unknown where to begin, start with one of the four gospels to learn more about Jesus.
