READ
Philippians 4:14-15
14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.
15 As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.
Paul wanted to assure the Philippian believers he was pleased with their gift in the midst of his present difficulty; that is, his time in prison. When he traveled through northern Greece they were the first ones to support him financially. It is sad to read his note, “No other church did this.” No wonder Paul was so deeply appreciative of the Philippian believers. He was thankful for both their prayers and their financial assistance.
REFLECT
Are you praying for those to whom you are indebted for feeding you spiritually? If you are able, are you also supporting them financially?
RESPOND
Read Romans 15:26-28 to see the principle if one has received spiritual blessings from someone it is understandable for the recipients to return material blessing.
