READ
Philippians 1:11
11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Paul wanted believers to “be filled with the fruit of your salvation.” He even defined what he meant: “the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ.” Notice it is not produced by the believer’s self-effort; it is produced by Jesus Christ. Paul even tells the result if this is true of believers—it “will bring much glory and praise to God.” That also fulfills what Jesus wanted for believers to be salt and light to the world (see Matthew 5:16).
REFLECT
Are others seeing the evidence in your life of one who wants to live to please the Lord Jesus?
RESPOND
Read Matthew 5:13-16 to see what Jesus said about salt and light. Pray that you will be this to a lost world. Give a person enough salt and he’ll ask for a drink. May others see your life and want to know more about you.
