READ
Philippians 1:28-29
28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. 29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
Believers want to be a testimony to those who need Jesus. Here Paul tells how to be a good witness: by not being intimidated by your enemies. Even your attitude will indicate to unbelievers that you are secure in Christ and they are not. You are saved but they are lost. Paul reminds believers of their privilege not only of believing in Christ but also in suffering for Him.
REFLECT
Are you bold or frightened as you talk to unbelievers? Tell what Christ has done in your life; no one can argue with that.
RESPOND
Read 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 to see that Paul admitted being timid when he came to spiritually and morally corrupt Corinth but that his confidence was in God, not in himself.
