Philippians - Week 4 - Day 1

Philippians 2:1-2 

1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. 

Paul asks believers a series of questions. The answers to the questions he asked are assumed to be “Yes.” With these things being true, Paul then makes an application: he told them how to make him truly happy. This would be done by their agreeing with each other, loving each other, and working together with the same purpose in mind. Sometimes there can be differences of opinion about what steps to take to get to the goal, but believers should have the same goal in mind. 

REFLECT 

Have you experienced the joy of having the same goal as other believers even though you may differ somewhat on how to reach that goal?

Read 1 Corinthians 10:31-32 and talk with you disciple about the same goal being expressed in your lives.
