Philippians 2:12-13
12 Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
After giving the believers the example of how they should be like Jesus, Paul now gives them more directions. He wanted them to show others the difference in their lives because of their salvation. They were not to be flippant in their attitude toward God; they were to obey Him with “deep reverence and fear.” Paul assured the believers that God was working in them to give them the willingness and the ability to please Him in all things.
REFLECT
Think about that God is working in you to give you the desire and the ability to please Him in all things. Are you responding to His working in your life?
RESPOND
Paul wants believers to show others the results of their salvation. One of the strongest testimonies is that of a changed life. Talk with your disciple about the differences others are seeing in your lives now that you are believers.
