READ
Philippians 2:14-15
14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
Paul has stressed previously how the believers should relate to each other. Here he tells them to “do everything without complaining and arguing.” He added the reason for these instructions: “so that no one can criticize you.” No one should be able to point a finger of blame at them and say, “You have done wrong and you have never admitted it.” Their lives as children of God needed to be a contrast to the ways of the world. Believers should have different lifestyles from unbelievers.
REFLECT
Does your life differ significantly with unbelievers you see around you?
RESPOND
Read Proverbs 6:6-19 to see what the Lord hates. The seventh one is especially applicable to what Paul wrote in Philippians 2:14. You should hate the same things God hates.
