Philippians - Week 8 - Day 4

READ

Philippians 4:2-3

2 Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. 3 And I ask you, my true partner, to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.

It is not known what disagreement these women had. Neither is it known whom the third party was that Paul was urging to help them. Paul was grieved because these women who had been hard workers for the gospel were no longer in harmony. Paul tells of those they had helped whom the readers might know but nothing more is said about them. Paul wanted these women to settle their disagreement because both of them belonged to the Lord.

REFLECT

Have you had some disagreement with other believers that need to be settled because you both belong to the Lord?

RESPOND

Read John 13:35 to see how important believers loving one another is as a testimony to the world. Talk with your disciple about the importance of this.
