Getting Started…
Imagine you were a young pastor, fresh out of seminary and sent to a new church in a rough area. You’d probably want all the help you could get. That’s the situation Titus was in. And so this letter from the Apostle Paul, though brief, must have been incredibly encouraging.
In this verse-by-verse study we’ll see the apostle lay out the basics of maintaining a healthy and active church even in the midst of a skeptical and hostile community. The lessons Paul shares about selecting qualified overseers and elders are still relevant to the church 2,000 years later.
Paul reminds Titus and all of us that the mission of the church is to shine the light of Christ into the dark world. And he encourages us to be agents of good in our communities, sharing the love of Christ. In this study of Paul’s letter to Titus, we’ll cover in detail all 3 chapters.
