READ
Colossians 1:3-5
3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.
The believers in Colosse were on the heart and in the prayers of the apostle Paul. Their faith and love for other believers were well known. The origin of these qualities was their faith in what the Lord had reserved in heaven for them. They had expected this ever since they heard the truth of the Good News and had trusted in Jesus as Savior.
REFLECT
What are your expectations of what is waiting in heaven for you? You can be assured it will be a perfect place because the Lord Jesus is there.
RESPOND
With your friend, read 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 that tells about the believers being rewarded for the quality of each person’s work in the lives of other believers. The works that have no value will be burned up but the person will be saved. This is a time of awards, not of determining who is a believer. Only believers will be at this evaluation.
