READ
Colossians 1:11-12
11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.
Paul told what he prayed for regarding the Colossian believers. He wanted them to be strengthened with God’s glorious power, and to have endurance and patience. Plus, they were to have this with joy. They should be “always” thanking the heavenly Father. Followers of Jesus are privileged to be part of the inheritance that belongs to God’s people who live in the light.
REFLECT
Are these characteristics seen by others in your life? Do you have joy? Are you always thanking the Father? This is a lifestyle that will draw others to Jesus.
RESPOND
Romans 8:28 is often referred to, but with your friend also read verse 29. This is what God is working together for good to accomplish. Notice also in Galatians 5:22 that the second fruit of the Spirit mentioned is joy. Do others see this in you and your friend?
