READ
Colossians 1:17-18
17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. 18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.
Jesus existed before anything else, and He holds everything together. All He has to do is let go and everything would fly apart. Other New Testament books tell of the church, the body of Christ. Colossians points out Jesus is the “head of the church.” As the head, He is supreme over all and should have first place in everything.
REFLECT
Does Jesus have first place in your life? Is your greatest desire to honor Him in all you do?
RESPOND
You and your disciple need to read Philippians 2:12-14 to see what Paul told the believers in Philippi about living to please Jesus.
