READ
Colossians 1:23
23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.
Paul was not doubting the faith of those in Colosse; he had already assured them they had been reconciled to God and were considered “holy and blameless.” He wanted to encourage them, however, not to drift, or backslide, from the life they have in Jesus. The gospel had been preached all over the then-known world even though not every individual had heard it. Paul was honored to be considered a “servant” in proclaiming it.
REFLECT
Are you thankful that the gospel reached you, no matter where you are living? Pray for those who are taking the gospel into areas where it has not been prominent before.
RESPOND
Do you and your friend consider it a privilege to be those who have the privilege of telling others the message of salvation? God never intended you would keep this to yourself. What if Paul would have done this? Read 2 Timothy 2:1-2 to see what Paul told Timothy to do with what he had been taught.
