Colossians – Week 4 – Day 2

READ 

Colossians 2:4-5 

4 I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. 5 For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. 

Paul was concerned that others would try to deceive the believers with spiritual arguments that sounded good but were not true. Some tell about Jesus but add other teachings as the Gnostics did. Paul rejoiced that those to whom he was writing were living as they should and that their faith in Christ was strong. 

REFLECT 

Can it be said about you that others know your faith in Christ is strong? Live in such a way others will see your knowledge and wisdom about spiritual things that is based on Christ and His teachings. 

RESPOND 

Together with your friend read Hebrews 3:12-14 where the writer warns others about not being deceived. Satan loves to deceive believers in Christ so they are confused and ineffective witnesses for Him.
