Colossians 3:5-6
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.
The habits of the unsaved person are to be put behind for the believer in Christ. Along with the passions of the flesh, the believer is also to put away greed, which is idolatry. Greed is the hunger for earthly things one does not have. Focusing on such earthly matters is like worshiping an idol—something made in the shop or framed in the mind.. God’s anger is coming against all the evils mentioned verse 5. To believe otherwise is to attempt to change God’s word.
