READ
Colossians 3:20-21
20 Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.
A child indicates being a follower of Jesus by obeying his or her parents. The setting is that of children at home. Those who have homes of their own are not under the rule of their parents but are to be respectful and honoring of them. Some fathers are strong on their children obeying but are weak in following the instructions not to aggravate them.
REFLECT
Reflect you love Jesus by following these instructions whatever stage of life you are in.
RESPOND
Read Ephesians 6:1-4 that is a corresponding passage to this one for children and fathers. Talk together about how both of you are doing with these instructions.
