Colossians – Week 8 – Day 5

Colossians 4:5-6 

5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. 

Paul had instructed believers what to pray for. Here he told them how to live and speak. To be a good testimony, believers need to live wisely among unbelievers. Believers also need to use language that is positive and uplifting for others. Believers in Jesus need speech that is not foul or abusive because such speech grieves the Holy Spirit. 

REFLECT 

How is your walk and your talk? Is it offensive to others? If so, how do you expect to attract them to Jesus? 

RESPOND 

With your disciple, take the time to read Ephesians 4:17-32. It is likely you’ve read it before but read it again in the light of what Paul wrote in Colossians 4:5-6.
