READ
Colossians 4:7-9
7 Tychicus will give you a full report about how I am getting along. He is a beloved brother and faithful helper who serves with me in the Lord’s work. 8 I have sent him to you for this very purpose—to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you. 9 I am also sending Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, one of your own people. He and Tychicus will tell you everything that’s happening here.
As Paul was concluding his letter, he referred to Tychicus and Onesimus who would tell the believers about all that had been happening with him. The way Paul described these faithful Christian brothers reveals how special they were to him. The characteristics of these two believers are something all Christ-followers should desire to be known as.
REFLECT
Think of the descriptions Paul gave of these two men. Both are referred to as “faithful.” Is this a word that others would use in describing you in a local church body?
RESPOND
With your friend, check some other Bible passages that refer to these two men. For Tychicus, see Ephesians 6:20-22. For Onesimus, read Paul’s short letter to Philemon, Onesimus’s master.
