READ
Colossians 4:14-15
14 Luke, the beloved doctor, sends his greetings, and so does Demas. 15 Please give my greetings to our brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church that meets in her house.
It is from this passage it is learned that Luke was a physician. In addition to writing the gospel by his name, he also wrote the book of Acts. In Acts, when Luke refers to “we” it indicates he was with Paul at the time. This passage also refers to the nearby city of Laodicea, the church mentioned in Revelation 3:14-15. Notice the common practice then of a church fellowship meeting in homes.
REFLECT
Do you have a living facility where you could meet with other believers? This could be done for a Bible study. Some have turned to Christ in these homes that had not been coming to church to hear the gospel.
RESPOND
You and your disciple need to be concerned about remaining passionate for the Lord Jesus. Read Revelation 3:14-19 to see the stern warning the Lord Jesus gave to the church in Laodicea.
