Getting Started…
“I have always loved you…” These words spoken by the Lord through Malachi begin a bittersweet examination of the state of the relationship between God and His chosen nation Israel. And through God’s questions, and Israel’s answers we’ll see what happens when a nation honors themselves instead of their God.
In this brief book of the Bible, we’ll see Israel as it stood just before what is known as the “400 Silent Years,” a period of time in which God sent no new revelation to His people. We’ll see a nation that considered itself faithful to God, yet had become thoroughly corrupted. And as we hear God’s call to His beloved nation, we’ll be reminded that He is worthy of our highest praise and offerings.
