A Command for the Priests

Malachi 2:1-2 

1 “Listen, you priests—this command is for you! 2 Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart.” 

Jehovah is a loving God, but He is also a holy God with demands for those who say they follow Him. Even the seeming blessings received will be turned into a curse for those who claim to follow God but do not honor Him. There are also warnings in the New Testament about taking God seriously and honoring Him in one’s life. 

REFLECT 

As you look around, do you find that some unbelievers have a higher standard for their lifestyles than some who claim to be Christ-followers? What do you think is God’s opinion of this?
