Children of the Same Father

Malachi 2:9-10 

9 “So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.” 10 Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors? 

Because of the disobedience of the religious leaders, God caused them to suffer the consequences. The priests had shown favoritism and this caused them to be “despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people.” God loves all people and has commanded believers to love others. When favoritism is shown, spiritual discipline will result.  

REFLECT 

Even though you have some friends who are closer to you than others, do you have a love for all of God’s children?

With a Christian friend read 1 Peter 1:21-22. Use this passage to assess how both of you are doing in showing love to others.
