READ
Malachi 3:17-18
17 “They will be my people,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. 18 Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
The Israelites of Malachi’s time thought good was evil and evil was good. By contrast, however, God says what it will be like when He acts in judgment. The righteous ones will be His “special treasure.” Then unbelievers will realize God makes a distinctive difference between those who are righteous and those who are wicked. It is further described as “those who serve God and those who do not.”
REFLECT
Do you claim to know Jesus as Savior? Are you serving Him and showing that by the way you live?
RESPOND
In contrast to what the priests were doing in Malachi’s time, the apostle Peter told spiritual leaders to be eager to serve God. Read 1 Peter 5:1-3 to see Peter’s comments.
