INTRO: SPIRITUALLY FIT | TODAY
In this episode of Spiritually Fit Today, Arnie Cole and guest Dr. Rob Rhodes discuss overcoming recurring worry and anxiety. They explore practical strategies, the importance of community, and the role of faith in finding peace. The conversation highlights Philippians 4:6-7, offering hope and actionable steps for those struggling with anxiety, and emphasizes the value of spiritual, physical, and mental health working together for lasting change.
STEP 1 - RECEIVE
(Receive God's Word and Grow in Bible Knowledge)
There are a lot of things regarding God's will that we just don't know. But we still know quite a bit! Paul continues his letter to the Thessalonians by reminding his readers about the kind of life God expects from those who preach His name. Consider how you are living to honor the Lord with today's message.
STEP 2 - REFLECT
(How does this Scripture Apply to your life?)
There's a certain pride we can take in just buckling down, keeping our nose to the grindstone, and doing our job day in and day out. But over time, we find ourselves taking on more than we can handle and wearing ourselves out. Laura was like that until God got her attention. She's here today to share the wisdom she learned from God's word that will help you find hope.
STEP 3 - RESPOND
(How will you Win Today?)
Coach Kelsey Coppinger, a recovering worry wart, helps us see the impact of worry and shares the simple, but profound wisdom of a Psalm to combat fear.
Today when you feel anxious, read and recite Psalm 56:3-4: 3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4 In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
STEP 4 - REVEAL
(How will you reveal Jesus to others today through praying and sharing?)
Sometimes when we decide to face our fears, our fears turn out to be not that bad. John is here today to pray with us and ask for God's mercy and peace as we confront the fears in our lives and embrace the adventure of a life lived for Christ.
