INTRO: SPIRITUALLY FIT | TODAY
In this episode, Arnie Cole and theologian Chuck Lawless explore how ordinary people in the Bible learned to pray, drawing lessons from both Old and New Testament examples. Discover practical takeaways for strengthening your own prayer life and learn how praying Scripture can help you grow spiritually as you start the new year.
STEP 1 - RECEIVE
(Receive God's Word and Grow in Bible Knowledge)
Humility can be hard word to swallow, especially when everything inside us tells us to stand up and fight. But as Paul continues his encouraging letter to the Philippians, he challenges them to live a life of humility. And as an example, he points to the life of Jesus Himself. Find out more about the power of a humble servant in today's message.
STEP 2 - REFLECT
(How does this Scripture Apply to your life?)
We all know what it's like to be stuck in a rut. Maybe it's emotionally, or creatively stuck, but whatever it is, it's hard to escape. That's especially true of being spiritually stuck. Jacob is here today to explain what it means to be spiritually stuck, and to encourage us with a verse from the Bible that will help you get back on track.
STEP 3 - RESPOND
(How will you Win Today?)
Like an athlete, if you want to grow spiritually, you need to put in the work. You’re in training today as Sherri Kreps translates her coaching skills from the basketball court to your heart and soul!
Target a specific spiritual trait you want to develop and then find ways to practice it. If you want to grow in kindness, be kind. If you want to grow in patience, well, be ready to hold your tongue when the need arises. And tomorrow, be ready for more practice!
STEP 4 - REVEAL
(How will you reveal Jesus to others today through praying and sharing?)
Every now and then, we all tend to stop growing spiritually for one reason or another. For those times, Jason leads us in prayer as we ask for God's motivation in our lives.
