Jesus warded off the evil one who tried to tempt Him with food and power saying, “It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4) What was Jesus doing? He was quoting scripture! Yes, God’s Word is powerful, and it’s here for you today. Enjoy your spiritual fitness workout!
Our sample workout for today starts with a look at 2 Thessalonians and Paul's response to lies that were being spread about the Lord's return, then Paul will join us with an encouraging reminder of God's love. Coach Ricky will encourage us to be more like Jesus, and then Arnie will lead our prayer time challenging us to worry less and pray more.👇
STEP 1 - RECEIVE
(Receive God's Word and Grow in Bible Knowledge)
From the day Christ left, believers have been eager for His return. Unfortunately, many have used this as an opportunity to spread lies about God's plan. Paul takes some time in his letter to the Thessalonians to clear up some misconceptions about the "day of the Lord," and to reassure believers that no one who loves the Lord will be left behind.
STEP 2 - REFLECT
(How does this Scripture Apply to your life?)
Need an ark? Paul here might be able to help you. But first join him for an encouraging reminder of the power of God's love.
STEP 3 - RESPOND
(How will you Win Today?)
When you were a kid, maybe you wanted to be like Luke Skywalker, or your favorite athlete, or ... Who do you want to be like now? Today, Ricky Kennedy coaches us to be like Jesus!
STEP 4 - REVEAL
(How will you reveal Jesus to others today through praying and sharing?)
Do you ever feel like you're constantly worrying instead of praying? Today, let's challenge ourselves to spend less time worrying and more time taking our concerns to God in prayer. He's always listening and He will never disappoint us!
