INTRO:Â SPIRITUALLY FITÂ | TODAY
In this episode of Spiritually Fit Today, Arnie Cole is joined by veteran journalists Bruce A. and Randy Lube to discuss "Truth vs. Spin" in today’s news. They explore how Christians can discern truth in a world of clickbait and media bias, why truth matters for faith, and practical tips for navigating newsfeeds with wisdom and integrity. Featuring insights from both sides of the media landscape.
STEP 1 - RECEIVE
(Receive God's Word and Grow in Bible Knowledge)
Many people in the world don't believe that God exists, or that He loves them, or that they can have joy or peace or contentment in this life. And when people call themselves Christians and don't demonstrate love or peace or contentment, they just confirm the fears of the watching world. That's why the apostle Peter urges us as believers to dedicate ourselves to growing in our faith as he continues his letter. To let the world know that God can be there for them too.
STEP 2 - REFLECT
(How does this Scripture Apply to your life?)
It's natural to want to step in and fix the mistakes we see in other people's lives--especially the people closest to us. And while a helping hand is sometimes needed, sometimes what is most needed is a little bit of space. Karmin is here today to encourage us from the Bible and to help us grow in patience, allowing the grace of God to work in the lives of those we love.
STEP 3 - RESPOND
(How will you Win Today?)
What’s the wait time? That’s our question for many things in life, but as Kate Dreesen points out, while the wait time with God is unpredictable, He is faithful, and patience pays off!
Today, as you wait for the big and small things, focus on Romans 8:25 and Psalm 37:6-7 to help you remember that God is faithful, and patience pays off! And if you know someone struggling to be patient, share what you’ve learned and encourage them as they wait on God.
STEP 4 - REVEAL
(How will you reveal Jesus to others today through praying and sharing?)
Have you ever considered how empathy can lead to unity? Sean leads our prayer time today asking God for opportunities to join with others in unity to shine His light all the brighter.
